Simple Strategies to Help Kids Connect and Calm Down
Between the go-go-go and the big feelings, most kids have a hard time putting their fingers on what is REALLY happening inside them and around them when. If they learn to access their body, their breath and whatever feelings are arising for them there, the affect in daily life is profound. There were definitely volcano-exploding days at home, but the better I got at supporting myself as a parent, the stronger I became at supporting them during challenging times.
